After some serious sleuthing, I have discovered that what Eklund "sources" tell him, never comes to fruition.

Do you guys think it might be possible Eklund doesn't actually have sources?! Say it ain't so!

Pens don't have the players it takes to get him if i'm the Blues. Unless you're trading a current NHl player, Malkin or something like that. Pens players too me seem to be system players. How many players stand out to you that were traded from pittsburgh in the nhl right now over the last 5 years ? I'm sure you're running to google to see

Now that the Blues are on a bit of a roll it makes total sense they're going to trade Shattenkirk to the Pens. The Blues wouldn't miss an impact RD at all.

Shattenkirk is not going to come cheap, but I'll be shocked that STL gets a top-nine forward in return for him. The most I see STL getting is a 1st + top prospect.

The ONLY way I see STL getting a roster player if it's a money issue. If the team he's being traded to was able to negotiate with Shattenkirk and needed to move out salary.

Always glad to see someone try and unsuccessfully take down someone's arguments with nothing to back it up and snide remarks.

Neal was already an established NHLer before he was a Pen. Staal was a top draft pick no surprise he has had success. Good name drop on Goligoski though!

I really hope The Blues resign Shattenkirk and get rid of Bouwmeester but if the trade were Shatty and Fabbri for Malkin???? MAYBE Malkin is great but is 30. Maybe 3-4 more really solid years(probably get chewed out for this). If the Blues could resign Shatty i am all up for it. Probably will walk via free agency on july 1st and Doug Armstrong will be fired immediately following. Sign him now and figure out the money later. they have some time. A right side defense of Pietrbngelo, Shattenkirk, and Parayko for years to come would be awesome, probably won't happen.
